ROOT collects no personal data whatsoever. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no notifications.
Your progress — which nodes you have visited and which files you have downloaded — is stored only in local storage on your own device. It is never transmitted anywhere, and it is deleted if you remove the app.
To grow, ROOT fetches new game content (public rooms in JSON form) from a public website, craigwrenasmir.github.io/root. This is the same as loading a public web page: no information about you is sent, and no cookies or identifiers are used. Once content is downloaded the game plays fully offline.
ROOT does not collect data from anyone, including children.
